This finely milled Hojicha powder is made from roasted green tea leaves grown in the misty mountains of Honnyama, one of Shizuoka’s most revered tea regions. Roasting at high heat transforms the leaves from green to a deep chestnut brown, developing a naturally sweet, nutty flavour with notes of caramel, toasted hazelnut, and a gentle earthiness.
Unlike matcha, Hojicha powder is low in caffeine and has a smooth, earthy body that is perfect for lattes, hot or iced. Its warm aroma and deep roasted flavour make it an excellent low caffeine alternative to coffee.

Roasted Japanese Green Tea
Origin: Honnyama, Shizuoka
Use a level teaspoon per cup.
Use 2-4g of powder and 60 ml of water at 75-80°C. Whisk in an M shape until frothy.
For iced Hojicha lattes, we like to use room temperature water, which results in a smoother taste. Give it a try and see what you think!
